The Role – Software Engineer (Modelling and Simulation)

You will be responsible for developing software for a key MOD project, including coding, simulation tools, and integrating modelling capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop software code
• Conduct unit and system testing
• Create simulation models based on data
• Integrate modelling capabilities into simulation federations
• Extract data from simulation systems
• Collaborate with industry teams on development tasks

Required Skills and Experience

• Experience in Defence Modelling and Simulation, particularly in Air or Maritime domains
• Implementation and development of simulation systems
• Rapid prototyping and concepting skills
• Software integration and federation expertise
• Understanding user requirements and translating them into development tasks
• UK Citizenship (no dual passports)
• Ability to obtain Security Clearance (SC)
• UK Drivers Licence
• High ethics and integrity
• Team-oriented, flexible, and self-motivated with a drive for professional growth

Team / Office Base

Reporting to the Capability Systems Programme Manager, based at Bristol or Stokenchurch (High Wycombe). Travel to client sites is expected. The role offers hybrid working with approximately 2 days remote work per week.
