Senior Software Engineer

Location: Stokesley, North Yorkshire

About the Role as Senior Software Engineer: We seek ambitious individuals with extensive PLC experience and good knowledge of SCADA and HMI applications. Full development lifecycle and onsite commissioning experience are essential. The ideal candidate will have led high-performing teams, be highly organized, determined, and thrive in an expanding development environment. A collaborative attitude and dedication to high standards are required.

Main Duties:

• Deliver complex PLC/SCADA and HMI systems aligned with customer requirements and project schedules within budget
• Take ownership of all aspects of software engineering, including requirements specification, design, implementation, functional safety, testing, configuration management, and quality assurance
• Produce project documentation, specifications, schedules, and technical reports
• Interface with clients on technical matters

Essential Skills & Qualifications:

• Experience with PLC systems
• Experience with SCADA/HMI applications
• Experience with Serial Interfaces (Modbus, RS422, RS232)
• Fault diagnosis skills within IT and PLC/SCADA architectures
• Excellent time management and ability to work under pressure
• Highly organized and self-motivated
• Ability to work independently and use own initiative
• Experience in mentoring and developing junior team members
• Full driving license and ability to travel
• Ability to attain UK Security Clearance

Desirable Skills:

• Experience across multiple industry sectors
• Experience with modelled requirements
• Experience developing .NET applications
• Knowledge of IEC61508/61511 Safety Guidelines
• Strong presentation and communication skills
