Education
LJ Transportation are seeking to employ a dedicated and hardworking Yard Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining the efficiency of our yard operations. This will be based at our Colchester Depot.
Monday - Friday, 8am-5pm
To be considered for this role you must have a full UK car licence and valid in date forklift licence.
- Maintaining a clean and organized yard
- Operating machinery such as forklifts
- Assisting with inventory management.
- Ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Communicating effectively with colleagues and supervisors.
- Carrying out administrative duties whenever necessary
- You will be dealing with members of the public and must have an eye for detail

- Be competent at using a forklift (Licence Required)
- An understanding of vehicles is a must and some knowledge of the recovery sector will be an advantage but is not essential.
- Have good customer service skills.
- Computer literate
- Have a full current driving licence and be willing to be vetted by the police to fulfil contractual obligations.
- Competent reading and writing ability
- Proficiency in using warehouse management systems for tracking inventory.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to perform basic equipment repairs.
- Experience in shipping and receiving processes within a warehouse setting.
- Basic maths skills for accurate measurement and inventory management.
- Familiarity with materials handling techniques to ensure safe transport of goods.
- Capability to operate forklifts safely and efficiently, with relevant certifications preferred.
- Physical ability to perform heavy lifting tasks regularly throughout the shift.
- Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail in all aspects of work.
