A healthcare organization in Wales is seeking a Senior Practitioner Psychologist to join the Powys Living Well Service. The role involves working within a multidisciplinary team to support individuals with chronic health issues, providing psychological interventions, and supervising other staff. Candidates with a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology and relevant post-qualification experience are encouraged to apply. We are seeking an enthusiastic Practitioner Psychologist to join the Powys Living Well Service. The service works with people who have persistent pain, chronic fatigue and /or significant weight management issues. The successful candidate will work as a core part of a well-established multidisciplinary team providing self-management support and interventions to this population of people, supervision will be provided by an experienced Practitioner Psychologist. The Psychology provision into the team is highly valued and respected, being seen as integral to achieving successful service user outcomes.
This opportunity is open to trainee Psychologists coming up to HCPC registration as a Practitioner Psychologist and other Psychologists seeking a Band 7 or 8a position - the successful candidate will be appointed at the level dependent on their experience.
This opportunity is also available on a preceptorship arrangement from B7-B8a and as such, development opportunities are supported for the successful Psychologist to progress on the 7 / 8a preceptorship pathway.
The post is full-time, however part-time hours will be considered.
Provide an assessment, formulation and psychological intervention service to this group of people as a core staff member integrated within the MDT. In addition, the role comprises delivering supervision and training, offering advice and consultation on service users' psychological care to non-psychologist colleagues and to other, non-professional carers, working within professional guidelines and the overall framework of the team's policies and procedures. Undertake research, audit and service development as an integral part of service delivery. Promote, both within group and individualised settings, the employment of psychological strategies, to enhance self-management and specifically work with service users that may present with behaviours that maybe deemed challenging, across all sectors of care and who may have complex psychological, social and emotional difficulties.Contribute to teaching, training and supervision of other staff within the Health Board regarding all and any psychological perspectives of long-term condition management.Participate in any strategic planning aiding to further developments of the Powys Living Well Service within Powys Teaching Health Board.
Band 8a Annex 21To undertake a 12-month training programme to obtain the relevantprofessional body training, completion of competencies and experience to meet the Band 8a Senior Practitioner Psychologist in Long Term Conditions management role and all duties as indicated within this job description.
