A leading palliative care charity in London seeks a Clinical Support Administrator to join their First Contact Team. The administrator will handle sensitive calls from individuals in distress, providing essential support and advice while managing administrative duties. Ideal candidates will have experience in a healthcare setting, strong communication skills, and the ability to stay calm under pressure. This role offers 27 days of holiday plus public holidays, and a commitment to fostering diversity and inclusion in the workplace.
First Contact Administrator will provide a responsiveadministrative service, clerical and administrative support to facilitate thesmooth running of the following services:
First Contact and24-7 Advice and Support Line
Community PalliativeCare Team
Inpatient and RehabWards
You will be part of theteam that acts as the first point of contact into the Hospices services. Youwill answer telephone calls from people who may be in difficult and stressfulsituations, provide advice and signpost to other services or agencies. You willalso undertake associated administration and data entry.
Administrators participate in a rota that facilitates our24-7 Advice and Support service. Thiswill include responding to telephone calls and taking referrals from peoplewith serious life limiting or end of life illnesses or bereaved relatives andfriends.

Clinical Support Administrator
Salary: Band 3: £27,152.71 - £30,443.60 per annum inclusive
Contract Type: Permanent
Hours of work: 37.5 per week (Occasional weekends)
About the job role
We have an exciting opportunity for a Clinical Support Administrator in our First Contact Team at St Josephs Hospice. We are looking for someone who has experience in administration and working in a healthcare environment.
The First Contact Team is a dynamic one-stop service that transforms the way patients and referral agencies access the Hospices services. An opportunity has arisen for a Full Time Administrator to join the First Contact Team. If you are a successful applicant, you will be part of the team that acts as the first point of contact into the Hospices services. You will answer telephone calls from people who may be in difficult and stressful situations, provide advice and signpost to other services or agencies. You will also undertake associated administration and data entry.
The service operates 24 hours over seven days a week for advice whilst referrals will be taken mainly in daytime hours. You will work 37.5 hours every week. Shift patterns will vary and you will be expected to cover shifts from Monday through Friday, 8AM to 9PM, plus occasional weekends according to the rota.
