Job description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated, enthusiastic and customer focussed Team Leader to join our CIPP accredited Pay, Reward & Employment Services. This is an excellent opportunity for those looking for a new challenge and wishing to progress their career.

WHAT IS INVOLVED?


Sharing your working week between modern renovated office accommodation and home working, you will be an integral part of our Pay, Reward & Employment Services. Working closely with Team Leader colleagues to prioritise, plan, support and develop a wide range of tasks fundamental to an efficient and effective pay and reward function.

You will support a professional and experienced team in managing all elements of the payroll function, ensuring accurate and timely payments incorporating modern and streamlined processes.

You will also take a lead role in identifying, developing and planning to ensure the Pay, Reward and Employment Services Team contributes to the wider Council strategy, policies and systems.

We are looking for someone with recent experience of HR/Payroll preparation/processing and with experience of supervising and motivating staff in a similar environment.

This post is temporary until 31st March 2028.

WHAT WILL I NEED?

We are looking for someone who is qualified with a Level 5 CIPP or CIPD qualification or relevant equivalent qualification.

HYBRID WORKING

Durham County Council currently operates a hybrid working policy where a model of 2 days in the workplace and 3 days at home/remote will apply. This model is pro-rated for part time roles and arrangements are at managers discretion, alternatively you can work all of your contracted hours within the workplace if you prefer.
