Job Description

Job Outline:

The successful candidate will support and direct process control and quality management in accordance with departmental procedures and the company Quality Manual.

Key Responsibilities:

The main duties include:

• Ensuring activities comply with company procedures.
• Developing procedures to adapt to changing environments.
• Supporting continuous improvement initiatives with Process Engineers.
• Leading root cause analysis and corrective actions using methods like 8D, A3.
• Supporting fast responses with tools like Fishbone and 5 Why.
• Managing the department's MRB process and reporting issues.
• Handling nonconformities and guiding effective corrective actions.
• Producing and utilizing Right First Time data to focus improvement efforts.
• Collaborating with all business levels, suppliers, and customers on quality issues.
• Conducting layered process audits and internal audits (e.g., AS9100D) to ensure compliance.
• Participating in business and product reviews to meet customer requirements.
• Building effective internal and external relationships.
• Verifying processes like AS9102 (FAI), AS9145 (PPAP), or similar.
• Performing risk analysis using tools like FMEA.

Personal Specification:

Candidates should have:

• A high standard of education (preferably HNC level or equivalent).
• Knowledge of AS9100 quality standards.
• Experience in an engineering discipline.
• Understanding of metrology (optical/mechanical) and problem-solving tools.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office for technical reporting.
• Excellent communication, attention to detail, and the ability to work under pressure.

Desirable attributes include:

• Extensive knowledge of Qioptiq products and processes, and understanding of the Qioptiq Management System.
• Familiarity with auditing techniques (training provided if needed).

Experience in quality assurance within a precision manufacturing environment is also advantageous.
