Job description
Youth Worker (part-time, 21 hours per week)

Chislehurst Youth for Christ Bromley, England, United Kingdom

Please note, this role is for 21 hours a week with a pro rata salary range of £15,996-£17,121 (FTE £26,659-£28,535)

For over 20 years, Chislehurst Youth for Christ has been working to see God changing young people's lives in the borough of Bromley, through our work with schools, churches and communities. We are looking for a part-time Youth Worker to join us as we continue our work in 2026 and beyond.

About the role: Working as part of a small team, led by a Senior Youth Worker, this role has an important part to play in reaching young people. We work in a variety of settings, such as schools, churches, and the community. This is a wonderful opportunity for someone to use their faith-based passion, experience and skills to share God's love in a relevant and practical way to the young people in the Bromley borough.

About you: A confident communicator, you'll be able to connect with young people and understand the different challenges and opportunities they face. You'll be an enthusiastic team member, willing to contribute to the development of new activities and building relationships to see young people grow. You will enjoy a varied work life, including one-to-one mentoring, facilitating small groups, and working with larger groups of young people. You will have the chance to get involved with a variety of youth work and faith-based activities.

About us: We're about seeing young people's lives changed by Jesus in a relevant and practical way. We do this through our work in the community, schools and churches, funded mainly through our '2gether' charity shop in Chislehurst High Street. We are a registered charity (1122523) and a member of the national charity, Youth for Christ. We have a vision to continue to broaden our reach across the borough of Bromley, working closely with other organisations who have a heart for young people.

Additional information: The charity's office is in St Paul's Cray, but the job holder will be required to travel to locations in Chislehurst and surrounding areas within the London Borough of Bromley.

There is a genuine occupation requirement that the post holder is a committed Christian in accordance with Part 1 of Schedule 9 of the Equality Act 2010.

The role requires an enhanced DBS check and references.

We offer 20 days annual leave, plus Bank Holidays and three concessionary days (all pro rata).
