A local government council in Barry is seeking a Youth Voice Lead Worker responsible for leading youth service projects and implementing participation strategies. The ideal candidate should have experience working with young people and delivering training. This full-time position offers flexible working hours and a competitive salary of £33,869 per annum. The Youth Voice Lead Worker will liaise with the wider Youth Service, Democratic Services and our partners to develop and lead in the implementation of a new Youth Service Participation Strategy. Alongside this, the successful candidate will be responsible for leading on new and existing youth voices projects covering the Vale of Glamorgan. This service is managed by the Vale Youth Service and is situated in the Learning and Skills department. The Vale Youth Service is a part of the Learning and Skills Directorate of the Vale of Glamorgan Council. We support young people aged 11‑25 through informal and non‑formal educational opportunities to help them achieve their full potential. We provide safe environments for young people to enjoy themselves and meet others, feel valued, access information and support, and learn new skills.
Youth & Community Support Worker Range – Pt15 £33,869 per annum (£17.60 per hour).
Temporary to 31st March 2027. This is a full‑time position consisting of 37 hours per week, 52 weeks. The successful candidate will work their hours between 8:30 am to 8:30 pm, consisting of daytime and evening work and occasional weekend working. This will be undertaken flexibly through working hours.
Office based at the Civic Offices, Barry, but working throughout the Vale of Glamorgan.
This is temporary employment due to grant funding.
