Job Description

We have an opportunity for a committed and experienced library professional to join our team.

Reporting to the Coordinator Library Outreach and Programs, the Youth Programs Librarian will lead, plan and deliver library programs for youth in Yellamundie and across the library branches. This role also works closely with local high schools and youth services.

The library’s staff are highly valued by the community and receive the highest ratings in community surveys.

As The Youth Programs Librarian Your Responsibilities Will Include
  • Providing direct customer support to people using library services
  • Using a wide range of technology and library equipment, including providing assistance with public access technology and online services
  • Planning and delivering a range of library programs including HSC support, afterschool and holiday programs for young adults
  • Maintain and promote children’s, youth and adult library programs and services
  • Work effectively as a team member of the Library Outreach and programs team.
About You
  • Completion of degree or Post Graduate level adult education and/or library and information studies, conferring eligibility for associate membership of the Australian Library and Information Association (ALIA)
  • Experience working in a public library and customer service environment.
  • Experience in formulating and drafting procedures, programs and reporting services.
  • Demonstrated ability to work within a team
  • Strong communication and literacy skills, both verbal and written.
  • Digital Literacy including skills in using business systems and mobile technology
  • Class C Drivers Licence.
