Job description

Smile Education are recruiting on behalf of a highly regarded primary school in Burton-on-Trent, part of the Endeavour Multi Academy Trust, who are seeking a dedicated and experienced Year 6 Teacher to join their team from January until July 2026.

About the Role

The role is a full-time teaching position within Year 6, where you will take full responsibility for planning, delivering, and assessing high-quality lessons. The successful candidate must have a strong knowledge of KS2 SATs and have recent experience teaching Year 6, with a proven ability to support pupils’ progress and prepare them effectively for end-of-year assessments.

The Ideal Candidate Will
  • Hold QTS or equivalent teaching qualification
  • Have recent experience teaching in Year 6
  • Demonstrate strong understanding of KS2 SATs frameworks and expectations
  • Be committed, organised, and confident in raising pupil attainment
  • Be able to work collaboratively within a supportive team
Safeguarding & Compliance Requirements

All candidates will be subject to strict safeguarding checks conducted by Smile Education, including:

  • A minimum of two references covering the past two years
  • An enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for a new DBS through Smile Education
  • Right to work checks
  • An interview with Smile Education
  • You may also be required to meet with the school prior to the January start date
