Year 5 Primary School Teacher

Prospero Teaching is looking for an enthusiastic Year 5 class Teacher to work in a Primary school in Newham, East London. The school is a three‑form entry Primary school with a supportive leadership team and provides training for all staff. The position is open to both ECT (early careers teacher) and experienced teachers. Depending on performance at the school there is a chance for contract extension or a permanent contract.

Contract / Position Details

• Location: Newham, East London
• Position: Year 5 Primary School Teacher
• Type of work: Class Teacher – planning presentations, marking work, parents’ evening, etc.
• Contract start date: February 2026
• Duration: 1‑term contract (may be extended)
• Contract type: Temporary (may become permanent)
• Full time/part time: Full time
• Hours: 8:00 am – 4:00 pm, Monday‑Friday (term time only)
• Minimum pay rate: depending on pay scale

Experience, Training and Qualifications

• QTS/ECT or equivalent
• Minimum 1 year experience teaching KS1 or KS2
• Up‑to‑date safeguarding training issued within the past year
• Legal right to work in the UK
• Enhanced child‑barred list DBS and willingness to enrol onto the DBS update service
• Two child‑related professional references from the past two years
