Maternity Cover - Year 4 Class Teacher
Location: Stalybridge, Tameside
Contract Type: Full-time, Maternity Cover (November 2025 - July 2026)
Salary: MPS 1 - MPS 6

Are you a passionate and dedicated teacher looking for a rewarding opportunity in a supportive and vibrant school community? We are seeking a committed and enthusiastic class teacher to join our single-form entry primary school in Stalybridge to cover a maternity leave in our Year 4 class starting November 2025.

This position will run until the end of the academic year (July 2026), with the potential to be made permanent depending on internal staffing movement.

We are proud to serve a diverse and inclusive catchment, with pupils achieving above national expectations in Maths and English. As our school continues to grow, we are welcoming an increasing number of SEND pupils, and are proud of the strong support provided by our experienced SENDCo, ensuring those with EHCPs make excellent progress.

We are looking for a teacher who:

  • Has strong subject knowledge, particularly in core subjects.
  • Is able to plan in detail and adapt teaching to meet the needs of all learners.
  • Uses formative and summative assessment effectively to inform teaching and identify interventions.
  • Integrates ICT creatively into lessons to prepare pupils for a modern world.
  • Can build positive relationships with pupils, creating a safe, calm and inclusive learning environment where every child feels valued.
  • Works well independently and as part of a collaborative, supportive team.
  • Is open to sharing best practice and reflective in their teaching approach.
