Job description

We're recruiting for a proactive and reliable Yard Operative to join a busy and well-established fresh produce site. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys physical work, takes pride in maintaining clean, efficient spaces, and thrives in a structured, supportive team environment.

This is a continental shift position (2-2-3 pattern).

What You'll Be Doing:

• Keep the yard and outdoor areas clean, organised, and safe

• Operate machinery including cardboard balers and waste compactors

• Manage fruit waste, general waste skips, and coordinate disposal

• Load and unload lorries as needed using forklift or other MHE

• Provide cover for the Packaging Storesperson or Warehouse Operative when required

What We're Looking for:

• Valid forklift, reach truck and POEP truck licences

• Physically fit and happy to work outdoors and on your feet

• Self-motivated with strong organisational and planning skills

• Numerate, literate, and confident with computer systems

• Team-oriented with great communication and interpersonal skills

• A positive, problem-solving attitude and strong awareness of health & safety

• Someone who takes pride in their work and aims to set the standard
