Job: Yard Operative

Location: Heywood

Pay: £12.85 Per hour PAYE Incl Holiday Pay | £15.96 per hour LTD Umbrella

Hours: 37 per week - 10am till 6pm Monday to Friday

Overview

Service Care Solutions are seeking a reliable and proactive Yard Operative to join a client they are working with based out of Heywood. The successful candidate will ensure the depot yard is maintained to a high standard, supporting operational efficiency and safety.

Key Responsibilities

Maintain a clean and safe yard through litter picking, weed removal, and leaf clearance.

Carry out strimming and hedging to keep access routes clear.

Apply grit during cold periods to prevent slips and falls.

Conduct daily site inspections and report health and safety concerns.

Handle deliveries safely, including unloading and storing items using a forklift truck.

Monitor skips, wheelie bin stock, pallets, and damaged bins for timely action.

Wash sweepers daily and check brush wear for replacement.

Ensure signage is visible and in good condition.

Desirable Skills & Qualifications

Forklift Truck licence and experience.

LGV licence (desirable but not essential).

Previous experience in yard or depot operations.

Strong awareness of health and safety practices.

Personal Attributes

Reliable and punctual.

Able to work independently and as part of a team.

Physically fit for manual tasks.
