A global banking organisation is seeking an experienced Workspace Architect to join their End User Computing function on a contract basis. This pivotal role involves supporting the operational delivery of Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) and handling strategic workspace projects. The successful candidate will have specialist Citrix knowledge and strong troubleshooting skills, working closely with a highly skilled engineering team in a regulated financial environment.

Qualifications

• Specialist knowledge of the Citrix product suite (Virtual Apps & Desktops, NetScaler).
• Proven track record in Citrix solution planning, design, implementation, and support.
• Experience working within structured IT frameworks (change, incident, and problem management).

Responsibilities

• Support the operational delivery and stability of the virtual desktop estate.
• Take technical ownership of workspace-related project delivery.
• Design, implement, and support Citrix-based solutions.
• Provide mentorship and guidance to junior engineers.

We are working with a global banking organisation seeking an experienced Workspace Architect to join their End User Computing (EUC) function on a contract basis.

This role is pivotal in supporting the operational delivery of the client's Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) and associated services. You will play a key part in the technical delivery of strategic workspace projects, while also maintaining high-quality BAU support for critical business platforms.

The successful candidate will join a highly skilled third-line engineering team, operating in a fast-paced, regulated financial environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the operational delivery and stability of the virtual desktop estate and associated services.
• Take technical ownership of workspace-related project delivery, ensuring timely and high-quality execution.
• Design, implement, and support Citrix-based solutions across multiple environments and versions.
• Install, configure, and manage Citrix NetScaler appliances.
• Provide mentorship and guidance to junior engineers and service teams on workspace technologies and troubleshooting.
• Diagnose and resolve complex issues spanning hardware, application, and security layers.
• Manage Windows 10/11 desktop environments, including application delivery and packaging (streaming, sequencing, isolation).
• Collaborate with project managers, architects, and infrastructure teams to deliver aligned, well-governed outcomes.
• Ensure adherence to change management and configuration control policies.

Essential

• Specialist knowledge of the Citrix product suite (Virtual Apps & Desktops, NetScaler).
• Hands‑on experience with Ivanti User Workspace Manager.
• Proven track record in Citrix solution planning, design, implementation, and support across complex enterprise environments.
• Strong documentation experience.
• Experience leading technical delivery for projects within defined time, cost, and quality parameters.
• Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills across hardware, security, and application domains.
• Excellent working knowledge of Windows 10/11 and associated application delivery methods.
• Experience working within structured IT frameworks (change, incident, and problem management).

Beneficial

• Experience with Microsoft FSLogix and Office 365 integration.
• ITIL Foundation certification.
