Vacancy Information

The salary advertised is full time (35 hours per week). Part-time hours will be pro-rated accordingly. Hourly rate of pay: £17.72 - £19.19. This is a 42 week sessional post i.e. working hours will be during school term time, school in-service days, plus 3 additional weeks during the school holidays.

Days And Hours Of Work

Days of working will be through Monday - Friday, between 08:30-16:00, with flexible starting and finishing times. To be discussed with successful candidate. To start 20th October 2025. This is an exciting opportunity for someone wishing to support our GDM department 2 days per week.

Ross High School is a co-educational, non-denominational school situated in Tranent, East Lothian approximately 12 miles from the centre of Edinburgh. The school roll is currently 1234 pupils although this is due to increase over the next few years. The school has good facilities for students and is continually looking for ways to broaden the learning environment out with the school, working together with partners within the community. Ross High School has been designated as the ELC provision for pupils of secondary age who have Complex Support Needs.

Ross High school has significant strengths however its motto Ad Meliora - Towards Better states clearly the willingness to improve. The school has clear Aims and Values including the Mission Statement 'Excellence for Everyone'. Inclusion in all aspects of learning is at the heart of them all. Job Details

To support teaching staff, with a focus on the work of the CDT department, and to provide support/technical assistance in Art, Drama and, by agreement, other areas of the school.

To ensure that equipment is maintained, and adequate supplies of materials, tools and equipment are available for use by teaching staff and pupils.

Assist teaching staff in demonstrating the use of equipment and preparation and support of teaching areas and workshops.

Relevant Qualifications

  • A recognised craft apprenticeship, possession of a City and Guilds Certificate Level 3, Higher National Certificate or equivalent.
