Job description

Manpower Recruitment have teamed up with an established company, based in Standlake, Oxfordshire and are looking to recruit a Full Time Workshop Engineer (Mechanical).

The role is working Monday-Friday, 40 hours per week, Mon-Thursday 7.30am - 4.30pm and Friday 7.30am-2.00pm.

The salary for the role is £28000pa-£34000pa depending on experience.

My client design and manufacture aircraft refuelling vehicles on a global basis for major airports. We also carry out on site servicing, repairs & calibration of all refuelling equipment across the UK and Ireland for commercial and private airfields.

We are currently recruiting for a Mechanical Engineer. We can offer an excellent benefits and overtime opportunities. This role would particularly suit candidates from a plant engineering background, ex-forces, HGV or similar. You will also be required to complete a medical and confined space training to facilitate tank entry inspection and cleaning. My client also we would like candidates to learn how the vehicle operates and be able to learn the test side of things before the finished vehicle goes to the customer.

The Role

To build/assemble all mechanical components on bespoke aircraft refuelling vehicles.

Experience

Candidate should have experience with vehicle building (ideally HGV).

Supervisory experience would also be beneficial.

Experience with aircraft refuelling vehicles would be extremely beneficial but not essential.

Essential skills
  • Ability to use a wide range of hand and power tools (drills, grinders, riveting etc.)
  • Interpretation of engineering data (drawings, schematics etc.)
  • Basic fabrication skills.
  • Basic level of H&S understanding.
  • Fluent in English.
  • Driving licence/car
Highly Desirable Skills
  • Experience in pneumatic and/or hydraulic systems
  • Welding (TIG/MIG)
