Workplace Operative - DV Cleared Role Location: Bristol Hours: Full-time, 37.5 hours/week (flexibility required, including some weekends) Clearance Required: Developed Vetting (DV) – UK citizenship and 10 years' UK work/residency history essential Start Date: Subject to DV clearance (can take up to 12 months) Play a Key Role in a Secure, High-Impact Environment Join Mitie's Facilities Management team and help us create safe, efficient, and welcoming workplaces that support critical national operations. We're looking for a multi-skilled, proactive Workplace Operative to support day-to-day operations at our secure Bristol site. This is a hands‑on, varied role ideal for someone who thrives on responsibility, takes pride in their work, and enjoys being part of a close‑knit, high-performing team.

What You'll Be Doing
  • Front of House Services
    • Welcome and assist staff and visitors with professionalism and discretion
    • Manage passes, keys, and general site information
    • Provide a helpful and secure first point of contact
  • Maintenance Support
    • Carry out minor repairs (e.g. unblocking drains, replacing bulbs, basic plumbing)
    • Support painting, decorating, and general upkeep
    • Assist the maintenance team with planned and reactive tasks
    • Portering & Logistics
      • Set up meeting rooms and event spaces (furniture, AV, IT equipment)
      • Manage internal mail and deliveries
      • Safely move goods and equipment across the site
    • Cleaning & Hygiene
      • Provide cover for cleaning staff when needed
      • Help maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene
    What We're Looking For
    • Experience in handy‑person role
    • Basic skills in plumbing, painting, electrics, and general repairs
    • Strong customer service and communication skills
    • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks
    • Basic IT literacy and a flexible, can‑do attitude
    • Willingness to work occasional weekends as required
