Overview

At Turning Point, we are recognised leaders in helping people recover from addiction and gain control of their lives. By providing the right support at the right time, and making sure that people can find all the help they need, we have grown into one of the largest providers of substance use services in England and Wales. Right now, we are looking for a talented Womens Worker to work within our community-based substance use services in the City of London and Hackney. The service is delivered in partnership with Mind CHWF and London Friend, with a focus on partnership working to support those in the local community who need assistance to achieve their goals. We deliver treatment and support across the neighbourhoods, ensuring a holistic and inclusive approach to recovery in this service. As a Womens Worker you’ll have the chance to make a real difference to the lives of the people we support who are experiencing difficulties from drugs and alcohol use, working with them to develop personal, flexible and realistic support packages to help turn things around. You may be offered a starting salary above the initial amount depending on experience, with a structured progression that can rise to a higher salary.

Responsibilities
  • Leads on women specific work and issues within the service and in partnerships.
  • Hold a caseload of complex women.
  • Manage a caseload of service users and coordinate their care.
  • Completes assessments, recovery plans, risk assessments.
  • Delivers psychosocial interventions in 121 and group settings.
  • Facilitation of workshops, management of recovery coordination sessions, compiling risk assessments and risk management plans, care planning and reduction plans as part of the role.
  • Collaborative team working skills and being adaptable and resilient to work in a changing and challenging environment, contributing to developing this service.
Qualifications
  • Experience in a Recovery Worker role or similar with a deep understanding of substance use and the Recovery Agenda.
  • Ability to deliver a variety of client interventions using a person-centred approach.
  • Strong communication skills; ideally with a vocational qualification such as an NVQ 3 or equivalent.
  • Excellent IT skills with knowledge of Word, Excel, and Outlook; and a track record of DANOS compliance.
  • Knowledge of relapse and other barriers to recovery.
