Welsh-Speaking Regulatory Case Support Paralegal / Senior Paralegal

Location: Flexible
Hours: 35 hours per week – flexible working patterns considered including fully remote
Working Pattern: Monday to Friday

The Opportunity

TSR Legal is delighted to be recruiting for a Welsh-speaking Regulatory Case Support Paralegal / Senior Paralegal to join a highly respected Regulatory team with offices in London.

This role is ideal for a skilled paralegal with strong investigatory skills and first-language Welsh fluency. You will support the preparation and management of regulatory and fitness-to-practise cases for high-profile clients across the education, healthcare and public sectors.

If you enjoy detailed casework, witness handling and supporting disciplinary and fitness-to-practise hearings, this is a challenging and rewarding opportunity within a specialist regulatory setting.

Key Responsibilities

You will support the Regulatory team in preparing cases for clients such as education and health regulators. Responsibilities include:

  • Reviewing and analysing instruction papers
  • Contacting witnesses and obtaining detailed witness statements
  • Drafting statements, letters, instructions to experts and structured case documents
  • Gathering and assessing documentary evidence
  • Liaising with witnesses, experts, counsel and clients
  • Preparing case bundles for hearings
  • Attending conferences with counsel and experts
  • Overseeing and assisting junior case support paralegals
  • Using internal electronic systems for document management and client reporting
  • Handling a variety of administrative and case-progression tasks

This is a varied and hands-on role that requires excellent organisation, strong communication skills and a high level of professionalism.

About the Role

This position sits within a busy Regulatory department handling complex and sensitive investigations. You will have the opportunity to manage your own caseload, work independently, and play a key part in preparing legal cases that impact public protection and professional standards.

Essential Requirements
  • Fluent Welsh speaker (first language) and fluent English
  • Previous experience as a paralegal or legal assistant within a law firm or regulatory body
  • Strong understanding of regulatory, disciplinary or fitness-to-practise casework
  • Experience taking and drafting detailed witness statements, including handling vulnerable witnesses
  • Experience instructing experts and reviewing expert reports
  • Experience preparing bundles and working with external counsel
  • Excellent administrative skills and ability to produce clear, accurate written work
  • Strong research skills
  • Good knowledge of time-recording software
  • Ability to manage competing deadlines in a high-volume environment
  • Excellent client-care skills with the ability to gain trust quickly
  • Strong organisational skills, especially when handling large volumes of documentation
