Wellbeing and Engagement Officer

VANRATH are proud to be partnering with a respected public sector organisation to recruit a Wellbeing and Engagement Officer on an initial 3-month contract with strong potential for extension.

This role is a fantastic opportunity for a proactive and compassionate wellbeing professional to join a high-impact team focused on enhancing employee wellbeing, fostering a positive workplace culture, and driving meaningful engagement across a diverse, community-oriented workforce.

The Role:

  • Reporting to the Organisation Development & Employee Engagement Manager, you will play a key role in supporting the delivery of the Wellbeing and Employee Engagement Strategy.
  • Designing and implementing staff wellbeing initiatives and engagement programmes.
  • Promoting a culture of inclusion, recognition, and psychological safety.
  • Coordinating internal communications to support employee connection and morale.
  • Supporting elected member development and accreditation compliance.
  • Advising on best practice wellbeing approaches, mental health awareness, and employee support resources.
  • Designing, delivering, and evaluating engagement campaigns and wellbeing-related training interventions.

This is a dynamic role that will suit an individual with a background in wellbeing, employee engagement, HR, or organisational development, who thrives in a collaborative, public-facing environment.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • A relevant third-level qualification (Level 4 or above) in a HR, or health-related subject.
  • Membership of the CIPD or a recognised wellbeing/engagement body (e.g., MHFA, IOSH, or equivalent).
  • 2+ years' experience in an Employee Wellbeing, Engagement, or OD/L&D role.
  • Proven experience with:
    • Designing and delivering wellbeing and engagement programmes.
    • Planning and executing internal communication strategies.
    • Supporting diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives.
    • Implementing wellbeing frameworks and staff support interventions.
