Coventry City Council’s Migration Team is an innovative and dynamic team that focuses on meeting the needs of newly arriving communities in the city and supporting integration. We work closely with the Job Shop and an array of delivery partners to provide a wide portfolio of top‑quality support to newly arrived communities who are looking for work. We actively partner with local employers to generate opportunities for people who have recently arrived. The Migration Team celebrates diversity while ensuring rights, opportunities and responsibilities are understood. Projects include UK Resettlement, Coventry Step and Step Forward, Homes for Ukraine. An exciting opportunity has arisen for a client‑focused Senior Welfare Rights Officer within the Migration Team. The role involves supporting clients who are being assisted by the Council’s Migration Team, enabling them to deal with queries quickly and effectively and to make better career decisions. We seek an experienced Welfare Rights Adviser who is organised, proactive and capable of engaging a wide range of stakeholders. Desired qualities include excellent communication, the ability to develop positive working relationships, and the skill to listen, understand and support clients in a positive manner. Candidates should have a proven ability to engage with refugees, newly arrived communities, disabilities and mental health, and should be dynamic, creative and driven to make a real difference in the resettlement of refugees in Coventry.
