MUST ALREADY RESIDE IN THE UK.

Overview

We are looking for a temporary welder to join the Production team, based in Bedford.

In this role you will ensure the precise TIG welding and fabrication of high-quality drainage systems, to deliver reliable and innovative solutions for construction and industrial sectors. You will maintain strict safety and performance standards to uphold product integrity and contribute to business success.

Responsibilities
  • Perform high-quality TIG welding on stainless steel, ensuring precision and strong welds. Fabricate custom drainage systems, grates, channels, and related components
  • Cut, shape, and assemble metal components as per technical drawings and specifications.
  • Work with various materials including stainless steel and aluminium and varying thickness from 0.9mm to 5.0mm.
  • Operate welding machines, grinders, cutting tools, and other machinery required for fabrication.
  • Work closely with design and engineering teams to ensure proper interpretation of drawings and provide feedback on potential design improvements or fabrication methods.
  • Complete daily checks, ensuring all equipment is properly set up, no defects, missing parts, etc. and the correct PPE is worn.
  • Maintain welding equipment and ensure tools are in good working condition whilst ensuring a clean and safe work environment, adhering to health and safety protocols
Qualifications
  • Proven experience in TIG welding and metal fabrication, preferably in the construction or drainage sector
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings and blueprints with strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality work, delivered on time.
  • Ability to operate welding machines and other fabrication tools safely and effectively.
  • Familiarity with health and safety standards in manufacturing.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Comfortable to work in a welding bay environment.
