Job summary

An engineering solutions company is seeking a Welder - Fabricator for a temporary to permanent position in Chesterfield. The ideal candidate should have experience in MIG welding and be able to work with plates ranging from 6mm to 60mm. Responsibilities include measuring, cutting, and interpreting engineering drawings. The position offers GBP15.00ph to GBP18.00ph based on experience with standard working hours.

Qualifications

• Experience with 6mm to 60mm plate sizes and fillet welds.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings for fabrication.
• Competent with various workshop machinery.

Responsibilities

• Measure and mark out plate for cutting and drilling.
• Ensure tolerances and quality parameters are met.

Austin Banks are working with an engineering business with strong links throughout their industry, providing a range of comprehensive engineering solutions.

Due to extensive growth, they are looking for Platers with medium to heavy bespoke fabrication experience to hit the ground running.

Duties:

• Measuring and marking out plate and sections for cutting, shaping and drilling
• To interpret engineering drawings for parts to be fabricated/welded
• Carry out dimensional check
• Use of press brakes, guillotines and other production machinery
• 6mm - 60mm plate sizes
• Ensure tolerances and parameters are met to satisfy quality and output

Experience:

• Ideally the candidate will be apprentice trained or time served equivalent
• Must be experienced in MIG welding
• Experienced with 6mm up to 60mm plate sizes and fillet welds
• Competent with press brake, saws, drills, grinders and other workshop machinery

Salary & Hours:

• GBP15.00ph - GBP17.00ph
• Days 8:30am - 5pm (Mon-Thu) and 8am - 1pm (Fri)
