Job description

Welder Fabricator
Location: Cambridge
Salary: 18.00 per hour
Hours: Monday - Thursday 07:30-16:15 | Friday 07:30-15:00

Role Purpose

To fabricate, assemble, and weld metal components and structures to precise engineering specifications, delivering high-quality work that meets safety and project deadlines.

Responsibilities
  • Perform TIG welding on stainless steel, aluminium, and mild steel (mainly light gauge 1-3mm).
  • Carry out MIG welding as required.
  • Support the move towards laser welding (training provided if needed).
  • Fabricate and assemble sheet metal parts, frames, and structures from engineering drawings.
  • Use fabrication machinery, hand tools, and measuring equipment.
  • Carry out cutting, grinding, and finishing to high standards.
  • Check and inspect work, ensuring accuracy and quality.
  • Book work orders using the company's computerised system.
  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment, following H&S and quality standards.
  • Work flexibly on a variety of projects typical of a subcontract environment.

  • Strong TIG welding skills (stainless, mild steel, aluminium - light gauge).

  • Skilled in fabrication, dressing, and finishing.
