Provide a proactive and professional welcome to the ward reception, front line areas, acting as the public face for the Royal Devon University Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust.

Deliver an efficient administrative and clerical service to the Ward Team.

Maintain effective communication to both patients, relatives and staff in order to ensure the smooth running of the ward; enhancing patient care.

Ensure all information is secure and confidentiality of information is maintained at all times.

Provide excellent customer care which may include communication with distressed and anxious patients and relatives, treating them with tact and empathy.

Ensure the professional image of the Trust is maintained at all times.

More detail about the role

This role encompasses working within the hospital setting providing effective administration support within a multi-disciplinary team. You should be enthusiastic, hardworking and motivated and able to work independently and in pressurised situations.

You will provide administrative, clerical and receptionist services to patients and visitors calmly, sensitively and efficiently both on the telephone and in person you will be working as part of a team and in collaboration with others. You will liaise closely with nursing, therapy, medical and supporting services to provide an efficient and effective service for patients. You should be able to respond to changing priorities and have the ability to work under pressure and be an excellent team player. You will be computer literate and have experience of dealing with the general public.

A good general education, proven experience in administration; a flexible can do attitude and the ability to use your own initiative. The successful candidate will have good interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate at all levels.

Working Pattern: 30 hours per week. Monday-Friday 0730-1530
