Job summary

A leading specialist trade merchant is seeking a Warehouse Team Leader based in Melmerby.   • Directly manage 15–20 Operations Assistants and delegate tasks.
  • Conduct annual reviews, manage recruitment and absence.
  • Ensure KPIs are met and verify operational tasks are completed.
  • Engage in warehouse duties actively.

As a Warehouse Team Leader based in Melmerby you’ll be responsible for:

  • Directly line managing 15 – 20 Operations Assistants, ensuring work has been delegated appropriately
  • Conducting annual reviews, probation meetings, recruitment and absence management
  • Ensuring the team have hit KPIs and verifying all picking, packing and loading have been completed correctly
  • Getting stuck into warehouse duties and supporting the team

This is a full-time, permanent role working 37.5 hours per week Monday to Friday between 2.00pm – 10.00pm

And here’s what we’d like you to have:
  • Previous warehouse experience with a history of completing warehouse duties effectively
  • People and talent management skills. Previous warehouse team leader experience is desirable
  • A proactive approach and to be able to get stuck in and support the team
  • To be comfortable and able to work in a fast‑paced environment
