Job description

Sayjo Recruitment Ltd are acting on behalf of a client to recruit an experienced Warehouse Team Leader in Morley. The role is responsible for overseeing and controlling all aspects of inventory and warehouse operations. It ensures the smooth flow of goods in and out of the factory, including raw materials, finished goods, and dispatch. A key focus is on leading the warehouse team day to day, implement and maintain efficient inventory processes, and ensuring timely dispatch of products to meet customer expectations.

Role & Responsibilities
  • Ensure all processes relating to keeping accurate stock records for raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished goods are carried out.
  • Oversee the tracking and movement of inventory via Transfer Orders between sites.
  • Ensure regular cycle counts and stock audits are conducted to ensure data accuracy and minimise discrepancies.
  • Establish and manage stock identification systems, including clear labelling of physical stock.
  • Ensure picking processes (e.g., batch picking, zone picking, or Kanban) are carried out to maximise order accuracy and efficiency.
  • Oversee the storage and dispatch of finished goods, ensuring timely and accurate delivery to customers.
  • Oversee goods out processes, including order picking, packing, and shipping.
  • Collaborate with transport and logistics teams to ensure smooth coordination of deliveries.
  • Collaborate with purchasing teams to manage reorder points, lead times, and supplier reliability.
  • Prevent stockouts and overstock situations through proactive planning and communication with purchasing.
  • Lead, support, and develop warehouse staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Ensure staff compliance with inventory and warehouse protocols, emphasising safety and efficiency.
  • Identify and implement opportunities to enhance inventory and warehouse operations.
  • Support cost reduction initiatives while maintaining service levels and product availability.
  • Ensure all warehouse operations comply with health and safety regulations.
  • Mitigate risks related to inventory, including obsolescence, overstocking, and stockouts.
  • Ensure daily/weekly safety checks are completed and documented (e.g., forklift check sheets, racking inspections).
  • Ensure warehouse housekeeping is maintained to a good standard.
Skills Required
  • Must have an up to date Counterbalance Truck licence
  • Proven experience in all aspects of warehouse operations.
  • Proficiency in inventory software and ERP systems.
  • Strong leadership, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments.

Working Hours - Monday to Thursday 0730am - 4.45pm and Friday 0730am - 11.30am
