Overview

Job Title: Warehouse Supervisor
Location: Moira
Working Hours: 42.5 hours per week
Reports to: Warehouse Manager
Responsible for: Warehouse Operatives
Contract Type: Permanent
Salary: TBC

Role Purpose

As a Warehouse Supervisor, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the warehouse, ensuring that all activities are carried out efficiently, accurately, and safely. You will lead a team of Warehouse Operatives, ensuring high standards of hygiene, stock control, and operational performance are consistently met. This role is key to maintaining customer satisfaction through timely and correct order fulfilment.

Responsibilities
  • Supervise and coordinate daily warehouse activities including Goods In, Picking, Loading, and Hygiene.
  • Ensure all vehicles are loaded correctly, on time, and in full.
  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness and organisation across all warehouse areas including freezer and chiller zones.
  • Conduct regular warehouse patrols to monitor performance and ensure compliance.
  • Lead weekly team meetings and support other supervisors with investigations, disciplinary, and grievance procedures.
  • Always ensure adherence to BRC standards and company policies.
  • Monitor staff attendance, timekeeping, and ensure appropriate cover is in place.
  • Oversee the safe use and maintenance of Mechanical Handling Equipment (MHE), ensuring pre-checks are completed and faults are reported.
  • Ensure all documentation is completed accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Promote a culture of safety, ensuring PPE is worn correctly and health & safety procedures are followed.
  • Offer suitable product substitutions in the event of stock shortages.
  • Report picking errors and discrepancies to the Warehouse Manager.
  • Lock and secure the building at the end of the final shift.
  • Maintain fair and consistent management of team members in line with company policy.
Health & Safety Responsibilities
  • Promote and maintain a safe working environment by adhering to all company Health & Safety policies.
  • Take reasonable care of your own health and safety and that of others.
  • Report hazards, unsafe practices, incidents, or near misses promptly.
  • Attend mandatory training and follow issued guidance.
  • Use equipment and PPE correctly to minimise risk.
  • Participate in risk assessments and contribute to safety improvements.
What We're Looking For

Essential:

  • Proven experience in a warehouse supervisory or team leader role.
  • Strong understanding of warehouse operations and health & safety practices.
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills.
  • Ability to lead and motivate a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.

Desirable:

  • Experience in food manufacturing or FMCG.
  • Knowledge of BRC standards and HACCP.
  • Familiarity with inventory systems and handheld scanners.
  • Valid FLT licence (Counterbalance/Reach - RTITB or equivalent).
