Job description

We are looking for a reliable and efficient Yard / Warehouse Operative to join our branch in Slough, helping us maintain our high standards of service, accuracy, and safety. What s the role? As a Yard/ Warehouse Operative you will be a key part of the day-to-day operations of the branch. Your role will focus on ensuring the receiving, storage, picking, and loading of stock is completed efficiently and accurately, contributing to the smooth running of the branch. You will work within a supportive and safety-focused environment, helping our team provide the best possible service to our customers.

Responsibilities

• Assisting with deliveries in unloading and loading of vehicles at the branch
• Receiving and storing goods accurately in the correct locations within the warehouse/yard
• Preparing customer orders according to sales requirements and loading them onto vehicles
• Signing for deliveries, reporting stock breakages, and maintaining accurate stock records
• Maintaining a clean, organised, and safe warehouse environment
• Carrying out daily checks and maintaining forklifts and other mechanical handling equipment in a safe working condition
• Promoting a Everyone Safe, Every Day, culture by ensuring the safety of yourself and colleagues
• Being flexible and assisting with stocktaking and overtime as required

Qualifications

• A valid Forklift Licence
• Good data accuracy, numeracy, and basic IT skills
• Strong knowledge of health and safety procedures
• Previous experience in a warehouse or yard role is advantageous
