A leading food company in Bristol is seeking a Warehouse Operative to assist in the warehouse team. Responsibilities include receiving and storing products, picking orders, ensuring traceability and safety compliance. Qualifications

  • Previous warehouse work would be an advantage.
  • Fork Lift Truck licence and experience would be a plus.
  • Knowledge and understanding of supply chain from intake through to processing and despatch.
  • Ability to prioritise workload effectively.
  • Ability to work under pressure and deliver to deadlines.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the food and meat industry is desirable.
  • Knowledge and understanding of factors which affect efficiency.
  • Teamwork and communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Store food items in the correct location.
  • Pick and collate orders accurately.
  • Check products are labelled correctly for full traceability.
  • Organise product for despatch at end of shift.
  • Verify all orders processed for despatch are on the correct pallets.
  • Raise awareness of any product unavailability or late deliveries.
  • Assist the Warehouse Manager and Department Supervisors.
Job description
Overview

Operate as part of the warehouse team to deliver key performance targets, safely, effectively and efficiently, meeting the required customer and technical standards.

Responsibilities
  • Assist goods inwards in receiving product as required
  • Store food items in the correct location
  • Pick and collate orders accurately
  • Check products are labelled correctly from receipt (batch codes, etc) through to despatch (customer codes, order number) to ensure full traceability
  • Organise product for despatch accordingly at end of shift ready for loading crew the following morning
  • Verify all orders processed for despatch are on the correct pallets
  • Raise awareness to senior management or the sales team of any product that is unavailable, or of deliveries that are late and require expediting
  • Assist the Warehouse Manager and Department Supervisors by supporting other warehouse departments as required
Health and Safety
  • Wear correct PPE including clothing, gloves and shoes
  • Comply with food and hygiene requirements and HACCP principles at all times
  • Operate within the company health and safety standards at all times and ensure that workstations are kept clean and tidy at all times
  • Report any hazards or equipment problems immediately to your Department Supervisor and support resolution as appropriate

Job purpose: To

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Shift Pattern: Monday to Thursday 8am - 4.30pm, 30 minute unpaid break; Friday 8am - 2.30pm. Total 38 hours per week. Salary from £24,700 based on experience and qualifications
