Position

Warehouse Operations Manager – lead the day-to-day operations at our busy Stoke warehouse. This is a pivotal role within our Contract Logistics division, responsible for overseeing warehouse processes, optimising efficiency, and ensuring exceptional service delivery. This is a hands-on, operational leadership role where being on the floor and setting the pace is essential.

Key duties & Responsibilities
  • Operational Leadership: Manage all aspects of warehouse operations including receiving, storing, picking, packing, and dispatching goods.
  • Inventory Management: Maintain accurate stock levels and lead regular stock checks, minimising discrepancies.
  • Space & Layout Optimisation: Design efficient storage layouts to maximise space and accessibility.
  • Order Fulfilment: Ensure accurate and timely dispatch of customer orders in coordination with transportation teams.
  • Quality Assurance: Enforce robust quality control processes for inbound and outbound shipments.
  • Health & Safety Compliance: Champion a strong safety culture through training, procedures, and proactive incident prevention.
  • Team Management: Lead and motivate warehouse teams including supervisors, forklift operators, pickers, and packers.
  • Reporting & Analysis: Produce accurate reports on KPIs, inventory, costs, and order performance.
  • Budget Management: Control costs and maintain efficiency within operational budgets.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure adherence to customs, environmental, and safety regulations, including hazardous or international shipments.
  • Continuous Improvement: Promote a culture of innovation and best practice across warehouse operations.
Key Skills and Qualifications
  • Proven management experience in a warehouse or logistics setting.
  • Strong knowledge of SnapFulfil WMS systems and RF scanning technology would be extremely advantageous.
  • Demonstrable success in managing profitable contract logistics operations.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word (intermediate level or above).
  • Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and change management skills.
  • Ability to analyse data and drive improvements based on findings.
