Leading the warehouse function for the Cambridge site, including receipt, storage and shipping, to ensure the highest standards of quality and customer service. Specific focus on import and export master data and process improvement to ensure efficiency at all stages of the process.
- Acting as a lead for the UK warehouse and working as part of the stores team.
- Track stock levels, perform cycle counts, reconcile discrepancies, manage storage, and handle obsolete items.
- Coordinate incoming deliveries (verifying against orders) and outgoing shipments (picking, packing, labelling).
- Maintain accurate records, prepare reports (stock, productivity), and handle shipping documents like B/Ls and packing lists.
- Liaise with suppliers, carriers, customer service, and internal teams (purchasing, sales).
- Utilize Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and other software for tracking and reporting.
- Import/Export master data responsibility; ensuring new parts are classified correctly and cleansing current SAP classifications.
- Customs compliance; working in partnership with teams in Poland to manage historic customs claims and making recommendations for how to improve the process and ensure ongoing compliance.
- Completing daily stores duties including:
- Incoming receipt and inspection
- Storage of parts in a safe manner
- Kitting of works orders
- Issuing of shortages to work orders
- Dispatching items from MRP from sales order
- Creating manual excel shipment paperwork when required
- Sending relevant emails on shipments
- Receiving RMA and Demo machines
- Stores kept in a tidy, safe and organised manner
- MRP system updated with correct BIN locations
- Ensure the stock accuracy within SAP is as high as possible
- Organise courier collections when required
- Mentoring the Stores Operative/Apprentice; providing support, advice and guidance.
- Ensuring all tasks within the warehouse are completed in line with quality procedures.
- Communicating with other plants/areas in an effective manner.
- Be involved in stock checks of the stores area as required by finance.
- Any other tasks reasonably requested by the Purchasing & Materials Manager.
