A major healthcare provider in Manchester is seeking a Ward Clerk for their Acute Medical Unit. The role involves providing comprehensive administrative and clerical support, acting as a primary contact for visitors and staff, maintaining patient records, and managing enquiries. The successful candidate should possess NVQ qualifications, excellent communication skills, and experience in dealing with the public, alongside a commitment to confidentiality. This is a shift-based position that requires flexibility and initiative.

To ensure the provision of a full range of administrative, clerical and reception support service for the Acute Medical Unit, Ward Manager and Clinical teams.
The post holder will be responsible for providing administrative support to the unit to ensure its smooth operation and running. The post holder's primary role will be to assist in providing a comprehensive efficient administrative system to the unit's multidisciplinary staff that ensures they are supported in their roles. Working as a member of the team they will act as the main focal and central access point for communication within the unit and be responsible for collating and disseminating information and data that facilitates the day‑to‑day unit operation. They will help all levels of staff, patients, relatives, and members of the public as well as outside organisations and agencies. Using their communication skills, the post holder will have the ability to use their initiative, working with minimal supervision to tight deadlines and maintain a flexible approach whilst respecting confidentiality for work undertaken.
This role is a 7 day rotational shifts working days and nights and all bank holidays included.
