Up to £12.48 per hour plus tronc and fantastic benefits

Saturday dinner/lunch shift. 8 or 10 hour shift

Due to the location of the Estate a driving license is recommended for this role

Our Waiter/ss at The Farmyard

You’ll be the friendly face of our Farmyard Restaurant, Hive Café and Garner Bar—welcoming guests, sharing the stories behind our estate-grown produce and delivering seamless, high-standard service from morning coffees to evening cocktails. You’ll work across vibrant outlets and events, keeping service areas shipshape and supporting your teammates so every guest leaves with a smile.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver warm, professional service across the Farmyard Restaurant, Hive Café and Garner Bar.
  • Confidently serve food and beverages—including wine, coffee and cocktails (training provided).
  • Share engaging knowledge of menus, ingredients and provenance with guests.
  • Maintain cleanliness, organisation and readiness of all service areas.
  • Support smooth daily service and estate events, upholding The Newt’s standards.
  • Collaborate effectively with colleagues across outlets and wider estate teams.
  • Escalate operational or guest-related issues when required.

Where you’ll be working

The Farmyard, a reimagined dairy in the Somerset hills, offers 17 guest rooms within a renovated farmhouse and outbuildings. It includes a swimming pool, games room, honesty bar, and 40-cover restaurant. Using estate produce, chefs cook in a wood-fired oven and serve directly to the table. Seasonal sharing dishes and wines are enjoyed in a stone barn with relaxed yet high-end service and an open kitchen.

The Farmyard Restaurant – estate-grown, farm-to-table dining.

The Hive Café – a casual, self-sufficient outlet.

The Garner Bar – a self-serve gin bar with estate cyder and softs.
