What difference will you make? The barriers which prevent children and young people from accessing quality education and equal life opportunities are complex and systemic; the solution requires partnership and commitment to long-term impact. By helping us build a website that reflects our 15+ years of experience in the space, you will allow us to showcase the sustainability of our partnership model, demonstrate the impact of our work for children and young people, and create clear opportunities for new supporters to join our global community of supporters, volunteers, funders, and NGOs.

About You
  • Website design expertise
  • Familiarity with responsive design principles and best practices for cross-browser compatibility and web performance optimization
  • Technical Proficiency: Demonstrated expertise in WordPress or equivalent CMS, including custom themes, plugins, and robust backend functionalities
  • Detail-Oriented & Proactive: A keen eye for detail, a commitment to high-quality work, excellent problem-solving skills, and a proactive approach to challenges
  • Collaborative & Independent: Ability to thrive both independently and as part of a collaborative remote team
What Will You Be Doing?

Latin American Foundation for the Future (LAFF) is a dynamic NGO operating in Peru to support quality education and personal development through sustainable partnerships with local organisations. We have over 15 years of experience working to promote quality education and personal development among Cusco’s vulnerable young people. Our partnership model allows us to work with a local network to deliver our quality education programme as well as develop our partners’ organisational capacity and sustainability.

This project marks a significant milestone in LAFF’s journey to-date. A full rebrand is underway to reflect the importance of our work bringing quality education and life opportunities to children and young people in Peru, and our organisational expertise and growth. You will join a rebrand project team that has developed a new brand kit and refreshed messaging, with team expertise in communications and graphic design.

As a Website Developer volunteer, you will work closely with our rebrand team to design and implement key website features, ensuring the site is user-friendly, engaging, and optimised for performance. You will play an essential role in creating the website via WordPress or equivalent CMS, to be handed to the operations team for ongoing management.

Objectives
  • Introduce a simplified website structure with a wireframe that supports UX, navigation, and a call-to-action
  • Develop the technical infrastructure for the new website using WordPress or equivalent CMS
  • Create web content templates aligned to our new content plan
