A local community support organization in the United Kingdom is seeking a volunteer for the Stay & Play role to assist with weekly community sessions. This position involves engaging with parents and their children, setting up activities, and helping develop new ideas for events. The ideal candidate is creative, friendly, and enthusiastic about making a difference in the community.
Are you a creative and welcoming person? Are you enthusiastic about supporting parents/carers in a fun environment? The Stay & Play Volunteer role would be ideal for a reliable, friendly and adaptable person who is willing to help run the weekly sessions in Gloucestershire. These sessions benefit the local community and visiting parents/carers with their children, and our volunteers make all the difference.
You’ll be responsible for setting up the room, ensuring it is left clear at the end of the session, engaging with people at the sessions, and helping to develop new ideas with the group for seasonal events and special occasions.
CCP was originally founded in 1989 by a local businessman in response to the growing number of homeless young people in Cheltenham. Recognising that people as young as 16 were sleeping rough around town after being thrown out of their family home, he purchased a building and opened a 10‑bed hostel. We have grown a lot since then and now aim to transform the lives of children, young people, families, and vulnerable adults by preventing homelessness, strengthening families and promoting independence. With a head office in Cheltenham, we currently employ 220 staff, backed up by a team of 160 volunteers, delivering services and projects in Gloucestershire, Worcestershire, Herefordshire, South Gloucestershire, Bristol, Wiltshire, and Dorset.
CCP is an equal opportunity employer. We celebrate diversity and are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all. Our robust Safeguarding Policy guides our recruitment process. We believe in the rehabilitative power of employment and working toward a purpose, so a prior conviction will not necessarily prevent you from joining CCP. Please note this role is subject to satisfactory pre‑employment checks and also an enhanced check by the Disclosure & Barring Services, paid for by CCP.
