Job summary

A respected charity organization in Edinburgh is seeking compassionate volunteers to support the day-to-day running of their Glasgow hospice. This role includes performing administrative tasks, providing warm support to patients and families, and ensuring effective communication within the hospice. Ideal candidates should have good computer skills and a commitment to high standards of service. Training and support will be provided.

Volunteers are at the heart of everything we do at Marie Curie. We're currently seeking compassionate and committed individuals to support the day-to-day running of our Glasgow hospice and help create a warm, welcoming environment for patients and their families.

Responsibilities
  • General administration: filing, photocopying, collating and sorting documents.
  • Using computer programmes such as Microsoft Office to complete tasks.
  • Monitoring and maintaining stationery supplies.
  • Greeting visitors and patients with warmth and professionalism.
  • Receiving deliveries and notifying relevant staff.
  • Answering phone calls politely and passing on messages.
  • Respecting confidentiality around patient details and hospice records.
  • Escorting visitors around the hospice.
  • Supporting communication between families and staff.
  • Assisting with drinks, food, and transport arrangements for patients.
  • Helping with other related tasks as needed.
