Job summary

A leading IT consultancy is seeking a VMware Architect for a 6-month position in Basingstoke. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with VMware-based PaaS solutions, vRealize Orchestrator, and infrastructure architecture. The role requires strong hands-on skills and knowledge of CI/CD pipelines. Applicants must be security cleared or willing to undergo the clearance process.

Job Details

Location: Fully on site in Basingstoke.
Duration: 6 months+

IR35 Status: Inside IR35

Mandatory Skills

• Experience in designing, implementing, and optimizing VMware-based PaaS solutions, specifically with technologies like vRealize Orchestrator (VRO), VMware Cloud Director (VCD), and NSX‑T.
• Hands‑on experience in configuring and optimizing VMware vRealize Orchestrator (VRO) workflows for automating provisioning, deployment, and management tasks, along with ESXi host life cycle management.
• Strong understanding of infrastructure architecture, including close collaboration with Network, Storage, and SIEM Architects, along with experience in working with NFS and iSCSI storage solutions.
• Experience in using CI/CD pipelines to automate infrastructure buildouts and facilitate efficient changes throughout the deployment life cycle.
• Familiarity with CIS benchmarking to maintain security best practices across technologies, ensuring systems are compliant and protected against vulnerabilities.
