Overview

Vehicle Maintenance Service Assistant Administration Manager Fixed Term Contract - until March 2026 (potential to be extended). Grade 4 - £33,366 - £40,476. Consultation grade - subject to formal evaluation under the Pay Equity Review Working 36.5 hours per week.

Responsibilities
  • Support the management of BCC's fleet and staff travel, ensuring legal compliance and operational efficiency.
  • Supervise and develop the VMS office team, promoting excellent customer care.
  • Optimise digital fleet systems and ensure accurate data management.
  • Assist in vehicle procurement, maintenance scheduling, and rollout of new travel solutions.
  • Liaise with suppliers and contractors to monitor service quality and cost-effectiveness.
  • Contribute to the Council's climate change ambitions by supporting fleet decarbonisation initiatives.
  • Deputise for the VMS Administration Manager when required.
Qualifications
  • Essential: Full UK driving licence.
  • Membership of the Association of Fleet Professionals (AFP) or equivalent.
  • 3+ years' experience in fleet administration.
  • Experience supervising a team and using digital fleet/travel systems.
  • Strong IT skills and understanding of statutory fleet responsibilities.
  • Desirable: BTEC Level 5 in Management or equivalent.
  • Progress on AFP Fleet Vehicle Management Pathway.
