Overview

We are recruiting for a Head Farm Vet to lead and manage the team at an established farm-only veterinary practice near Plymouth, Devon. This is an excellent full-time opportunity, working 4 days a week with a 1 in 12 on-call rota. The practice focuses on farm animal care (beef, sheep, and dairy) with high-quality veterinary care, fantastic facilities, and up-to-date technologies and equipment. This is a senior clinical role with a focus on providing leadership within the vet team and supporting the Farm Practice Manager. Ideally you will be an experienced, confident and motivated farm vet with a passion for clinical leadership and supporting colleagues. Leadership experience is welcome but not essential as support can be provided. You will join a supportive and collaborative team of 7 Vets, 3 ATTs, and a Vet Tech. The location offers easy access to Plymouth’s coastal city life, great transport links, rolling countryside, coastal access, and a welcoming community.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the farm veterinary team, providing clinical leadership and support to colleagues.
• Support the Farm Practice Manager in day-to-day operations and service delivery.
• Deliver high-quality veterinary care across beef, sheep, and dairy farms using up-to-date facilities and equipment.
• Collaborate with a team of 7 Vets, 3 ATTs, and a Vet Tech to ensure exceptional client and patient outcomes.
• Contribute to continuous improvement and development within the practice.

Person Requirements

• Degree in Veterinary Medicine or equivalent
• Registered with the RCVS
• Experienced, confident and motivated farm vet
• Passion for clinical leadership and supporting colleagues
