A veterinary practice in Newark is looking for a part-time veterinary surgeon committed to providing excellent care to pets. The ideal candidate should have a veterinary degree and be empathetic towards clients. We are seeking a veterinary surgeon to join our well-established small animal general practice in Newark. The ideal candidate will be committed to providing quality care to their patients and be warm and empathetic towards our clients in times of need.
Work life balance that works for you
We are open between 08:00 - 19:00 Monday to Friday and Saturday 08:00 - 12:30, with no out of hours or on call as this is covered by Vets Now. Your day will be varied with a mix of consultations and surgery.

We are ideally looking for a part-time vet surgeon to join the team. We are fortunate enough to be able to offer a fully flexible working rota including a school-hours based shift pattern 9:30am - 2:30pm.
Who we are
Companion Vets is a small animal first opinion practice based in Balderton, close to Newark town centre with good links to the A46 and A1. It is a short drive from Nottingham, Lincoln, and Leicester. The main East Coast train line can have you in London within the hour, and airports are also easily accessible with East Midlands Airport and Birmingham Airport nearby.
As we have been established for a long time in Newark, we are lucky to have a lovely, bonded client base, with most clients dedicated to their pets' care and proactive in providing preventative healthcare.
The site is well-equipped with in-house lab facilities, ultrasound, diagnostics, and digital X-ray. Our team includes one Veterinary Surgeon, three Registered Veterinary Nurses, one Veterinary Care Assistant, along with our Receptionist and Practice Manager. Our vet is currently working towards a Certificate in Small Animal Medicine. We encourage professional development and are happy to support any professional interests or certificate goals.
