At Animates we have an opportunity for an enthusiastic, first opinion general practice vet to join the team full or part time. This opportunity offers a varied and interesting caseload with plenty of opportunity to consult, investigate, operate and follow your own cases through and would suit a clinician who wants to make a difference.
The standard full-time rota consists of 40 hours per week across 4 days between the hours of 8am to 7pm. Shifts run from Monday to Saturday with a Saturday finishing time being 5pm. Our vets do an equal share of the Saturday rota which enables us to fit your days off around other commitments. We are also very interested in hearing from any part time candidates and can discuss a bespoke rota at time of interview.
We are a busy first opinion, 2 site small animal practice with our Thurlby practice in separate buildings for cats and dog, enhancing the quality of care for both. We are fully equipped 7 vet, 9 RVN, 10 Support (VCA and reception) practice, with a real focus on enabling training and development within the team. Our Day Manager is responsible for the smooth running of the day, ensuring the clinical team can focus on what they do best. In addition, a peripatetic surgeon visits us for orthopaedics and the more complicated soft tissue surgery. Out of hours treatment and hospitalisation care is provided by our local Vets Now team in Peterborough.
Consulting vets have the support of a dispensary nurse, allowing you to make the most of our 20 minute consultations, with a real focus on establishing relationships with our clients and their pets. Wellbeing of the team is very important to us. We focus on this in our day to day work and the role of the Day Manager is a vital part of this, ensuring our days are structured and planned to allow for a smooth workflow.
In addition, we have monthly wellbeing activities, summer and winter events, themes and outings to look forward to.
The practice is in a lovely, if underrated, part of the country. We are close to Peterborough for transport links and to the historic market town of Stamford with its thriving high street and café culture. For those who love the outdoors, we are one of the driest parts of the country, great for getting out and about and taking advantage of nearby Rutland water and its leisure activities or a dog walk with a pub lunch.
