Proudly independent, this practice has been serving the Windsor area for over 120 years and also operates small branch surgeries in Ascot and Egham, each just 15 minutes away. All locations offer free parking for staff.

As one of the first practices in the UK to be awarded Veterinary Hospital status in the 1970s, this practice has consistently maintained high standards of care and advanced facilities. A commitment to innovation and the latest in equipment and treatments continues to drive their success. Being privately owned enables the team to make decisions that ensure the highest levels of care for their patients.

The practice boasts a progressive team of 7 vets, including two certificate holders, and a dedicated support team of 11 nurses, as well as experienced receptionists and admin staff. Many team members have been with the practice for over 10 years, with some having been part of the team for more than 20 years. The practice fosters a collaborative and supportive work culture, both within the clinic and socially outside of work.

The practices facilities are among the best in the area, with the Windsor hospital housing their surgical and hospitalization services, along with a resident nurse available 24/7.

THE ROLE

This practice are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated first opinion vet to join their team. The ideal candidate will be confident in consulting, performing first opinion surgeries, conducting diagnostic investigations, providing dental care, and offering dedicated inpatient care. While the role will involve working across all three branches, the Windsor hospital will be the primary base for surgical and inpatient care.

  • Full-time position (4 days per week), with part-time options considered (including weekend shifts)
  • Start time: 8:30 am, or 8:00 am if on operations
  • Finish time: between 5:30 pm and 6:30 pm, depending on the rota
  • No overnight on-call; one late finish per week until 9:00 pm (starting at 1:00 pm)
  • Shared weekend rota: one weekend in five, with Saturday and Sunday morning consultations and on-call until 5:00 pm
  • Monday and Friday off following the duty weekend
  • A driving license and car are required, with business mileage reimbursed

After-hours emergencies are handled by an OOH partner, with a nurse on site 24 hours a day to manage inpatients and facilitate transfers between the practice and OOH care.

The practice actively supports career growth, encouraging CPD and progression toward certification, with financial and time support for professional development.
