Overview

Southern Self Drive is a well-established, family-run business now in its third generation. We are currently looking for a skilled Vehicle Technician to join our dedicated team in the Portsmouth area.

Responsibilities

• Carry out inspections, servicing, and repairs on a variety of vehicles
• Diagnose faults using appropriate tools and diagnostic equipment
• Replace or repair faulty components as needed
• Perform road tests to ensure repairs have been successful
• Fit and service vehicle accessories
• Conduct service checks and MOT preparation
• Complete routine maintenance tasks such as oil and filter changes
• Follow maintenance schedules and checklists
• Work collaboratively as part of a team
• Communicate effectively with colleagues and management

What We\'re Looking For

• NVQ Level 3 in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair
• Minimum of 2 years\' experience in a workshop environment
• Full UK driving licence (clean or with up to 3 points; 1 non-fault accident may be considered)
• Strong technical knowledge of motor vehicles
• Familiarity with diagnostic tools and scanners
• Some knowledge of hybrid vehicles and safe maintenance procedures
• Good communication and organisational skills
• Positive attitude, reliability, and strong work ethic
• Own set of tools essential
