Job description

Join the Welsh Water Transport team as a Vehicle Technician and apply your technical expertise to a fleet that delivers safe drinking water to 1.3 million households across Wales and Herefordshire. You will maintain and repair fleet vehicles and ancillary equipment, supporting the provision of water and environmental services in a dynamic and challenging environment.

Responsibilities
  • Maintain fleet vehicles and ancillary equipment to the highest standards of safety, performance and budget targets.
  • Carry out routine servicing, planned maintenance and repairs in line with manufacturers’ standards and company procedures.
  • Ensure all work is recorded in job cards, maintenance records and fleet systems.
  • Respond to business and colleague requests and support the performance of the Transport Services team.
  • Work as part of a small team at a busy garage, preparing vehicles to DVSA standards and MOT requirements.
  • Adhere to the company’s Health and Safety procedures and systems.
Qualifications
  • Full UK Driving Licence, Category C preferred.

  • NVQ Level 3 or City & Guilds Level 3 in Light or Heavy Goods Vehicle Technology (post‑apprenticeship experience).

Shift Patterns

Monday to Thursday 08:00‑16:00 and Friday 08:00‑15:30. Optional standby rota.
