Job summary

A leading agricultural machinery supplier is seeking an enthusiastic candidate for a hands-on role maintaining and detailing machinery at their depot. Responsibilities include cleaning machines, preparing for demonstrations, and ensuring the yard is organised. The ideal candidate will work outdoors, have great attention to detail, and must possess a full driving licence. A supportive and friendly work environment is offered along with ongoing training and training opportunities. The salary ranges from £20,800 to £26,000 per annum.

Qualifications

  • Willingness to work outdoors in all weathers.
  • Ability to operate machinery safely (training can be provided).
  • Previous experience in a similar role is desirable but not essential.
  • Full driving licence is essential; trailer/forklift licence is an advantage.

Job description

In this varied and hands‑on role, you’ll help ensure our machinery, vehicles, and yards are maintained to a high standard. Working closely with our sales and service teams, you’ll play a vital part in presenting machinery professionally, keeping the depot organised, and supporting day‑to‑day operational tasks.

Salary: £20,800 - £26,000 per annum (dependant on age/experience)

Job Type & Hours: Full time/ Permanent/ 8am-4.30pm Mon‑Fri

Location: Dumfries Depot (DG1 3UB) (also covering our Carlisle Depot, CA1 2UR)

Main Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Cleaning and detailing agricultural and industrial machines to a high standard.
  • Preparing machines and company vehicles for demonstrations or hire, including cleaning and fluid checks.
  • Loading and unloading of machinery safely and general yard duties.
  • Maintaining accurate records of incoming and outcoming machinery, ensuring all documentation is up‑to‑date.
  • Delivery and collection of customer and new machines.
  • Ensuring the yard areas are clean, tidy and well organised.
  • Assist with additional tasks to support smooth operations.

  • Willingness to work outdoors in all weathers.
  • Ability to operate machinery safely (training can be provided)
  • High level of attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
  • Ability to work both individually and as part of a team whilst adhering to health and safety procedures.
  • Previous experience in a similar role is desirable but not essential.
  • Full driving licence is essential; trailer/forklift licence is an advantage.
