Full-Time

We are seeking to recruit a full-time permanent Collections Assistant to join the Collection Management team within the Library’s Digital Scholarship and Innovation Group.

The role is part of LSE Library Collection Management team. The post holder will be responsiblefor preparing and digitising materials to support digitisation services to a high standard, answering enquiries relating to digitisation services, fetching, shelving and handling archives and special collections materials, and supporting the digital delivery of requested material in response to user queries.

You should have excellent IT skills, experience with Microsoft programs Excel and Word, as well as a basic understanding of file and folder operations. You should also be able to communicate well with a wide range of people and to convey information clearly and appropriately. You must have the ability to demonstrate a professional approach to Library users/customers and to deliver a consistent, effective service. You should be self-motivated and have the ability to organise your own workload.You must have knowledge of collection care issues including safe document handling.Familiarity with digitisation equipment and software is desirable.
