Job opportunity with Warner Surveys Utility Mapping
Utility Surveyor

Job Description

As a Utility Surveyor at Warner Utility Mapping, you will be responsible for the full lifecycle of utility detection and mapping projects, primarily to PAS128:2022 standards.

Your day-to-day will include:

  • Site reconnaissance and planning, including reviewing client requirements and existing records
  • Underground utility detection using a combination of Electromagnetic Locators (EML) and Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR)
  • Topographical data collection using Total Station and/or GNSS systems
  • Interpreting survey findings and producing detailed CAD drawings, compliant with PAS128 methodologies (QH, QL, etc.)
  • Creating utility reports, including annotated photos, sketches, and supporting documentation
  • Conducting on-site mark-ups, communicating with clients, site personnel, and stakeholders
  • Ensuring all work meets health, safety, and quality standards
  • Managing equipment checks, calibrations, and reporting any issues
  • Working independently or as part of a 2-person crew depending on project scope
Skills & Requirements
  • At least 3+ years’ experience in utility surveying
  • Strong working knowledge of PAS128 survey methodology
  • Experience with EML and GPR equipment (e.g., Vivax/Radiodetection, Mala, Leica)
  • Proficient in AutoCAD and N4ce and able to process survey data to a professional standard
  • Good understanding of topographic survey principles
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Strong attention to detail, time management, and communication skills
  • CSCS card and other industry-related certifications
  • CCTV drainage Surveying and Reporting
  • GPR Post Processing
  • Confined Space or NRSWA qualifications
